An anechoic chamber is typically used to house Equipment Under Test (EUT) when performing tests. These tests could be either acoustic or electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). On this page, we are not dealing with the anechoic chambers for acoustic measurements. We are focusing on anechoic chambers for EMC. WHY DO YOU NEED ANECHOIC CHAMBER FOR EMC MEASUREMENTS?

If you are a product designer or manufacturer, your products have to fulfil some regulations and standards. Some of these regulations are EMC-related ones and they require anechoic chambers during EMC tests. EMC tests for most of the electrical and electronic systems can be performed in anechoic chambers. We can show the industries which are interested in anechoic chambers for EMC as follows:Aerospace & Aviation

Automotive

Defense & Government

Consumer Electronics

Industrial Electronics

Medical

Telecommunication

HOW ANECHOIC CHAMBERS LOOK LIKE?

EMC Anechoic chambers are special rooms and instructions including EMC-specific materials, items and systems. Each part of anechoic chamber is chosen and designed according to your product’s features, standards or customized requirements.

A typical EMC anechoic chamber consists of shielded enclosure, shielded door, ferrite tiles, absorbers, ventilation system, lighting system, antenna mast, turntable, smoke detector, monitoring system and filters.

WHAT IS SEMI ANECHOIC CHAMBER (SAC)?

Semi Anechoic Chamber (SAC) is one of the types of EMC anechoic chambers. Why we call ‘Semi’? Because, it is not fully anechoic. There are six surfaces in an anechoic chamber: Ground, Ceiling, Front and Rear Walls, Side Walls. If all of these surfaces are fully covered by ferrite tiles or/and RF absorbers, we call this type of chambers ‘Fully Anechoic Chamber (FAC)’. If ground plane is not covered with ferrite tiles or RF absorbers, we   call this type of chamber ‘Semi Anechoic Chamber (SAC)’ since one surface is reflecting instead of absorbing. Reflecting surface (ground plane) is covered by metallic plates which are connected to ground of the chamber.

Some tests require FAC, some others require SAC. By using portable RF absorbers, you can easily convert a SAC to FAC in about 15 minutes.

      WHICH ANECHOIC CHAMBERS WE PROVIDE?

      WHAT IS TURNKEY EMC LABORATORY?

Turnkey EMC Laboratory includes all services, equipments, calibrations and validations. Turnkey EMC laboratory solutions can be useful since you can fulfil all of your EMC requirements in one hand. After defining your requirements, product standards and dimensions, anechoic chamber and its control room is designed. After completing installation, the chamber and its control room is validated. Then the laboratory (Anechoic Chamber and its control room) is equipped with compatible EMC test equipments, accessories, cables and connectors. We short call all of these as EMC Test Systems. All of them are calibrated and certified items. Each test instrument is placed to appropriate locations to fulfil test setup requirements of the EMC standards. Laboratory staff is trained according to relevant standards. Then, turnkey EMC laboratory is ready to start its operations.

We are offering turnkey EMC laboratory solutions including

      1. EMC Anechoic Chamber Design Services

      2. EMC Anechoic Chamber Installation and Relocation Services

      3. EMC Anechoic Validation Services (with third party and independent laboratories)

      4. Instrumentation Services, EMC Test Systems (equipments, software and accessories)

      5. Calibration Services for the instrumentation (ISO/IEC accredited, third-party, independent)

      6. EMC Training Services (On-site or Online)

      7. Consultation Services (On-site or Online)
