Radio equipments are spreading worldwide in parallel to technology. Every country or region applies its own regulations. European Union is regulating radio equipments through its RED (2014/53/EU). According to Radio Equipment Directive (RED) 2014/53/EU of European Union radio equipment is defined as follows :
An electrical or electronic product, which intentionally emits and/or receives radio waves for the purpose of radio communication and/or radio determination, or an electrical or electronic product which must be completed with an accessory, such as antenna, so as to intentionally emit and/or receive radio waves for the purpose of radio communication and/or radio determination.
Radio equipments which will be marketed in European Union members, EFTA countries and Turkey shall be certified according to Radio Equipment Directive (2014/53/EU) of EU. Radio equipments emit and/or receive radio waves.
‘radio waves’ means electromagnetic waves of frequencies lower than 3 000 GHz, propagated in space without artificial guide.
