Full title of the regulation is ‘Uniform provisions concerning the approval of vehicles of categories M, N and O with regard to their heating systems ‘
ECE R122 regulation applies to:
all vehicles in categories M, N and O in which a heating system is fitted.
Type approvals are granted according to:
Part I – Approval of a vehicle type with regard to its heating system.
Part II – Approval of a heating system with regard to its operational safety.
“Vehicle” means a vehicle of category M, N or O in which a heating system is fitted.
“Heating system for the passenger compartment” means any type of device designed to increase the temperature of the passenger compartment.
“Heating system for the load area” means any type of device designed to increase the temperature of the load area.
