Continuous conducted radio­frequency (RF) immunity test is one of the EMC tests. It is also called conducted ElectroMagnetic Susceptibility (EMS) testing. This test is required for electrical and electronic products used in domestic, commercial, industrial, automotive, aerospeace, space, railway and marine. Since each product has its own EMC regulation and standard requirements, conducted RF immunity test can be named differently by the standards. Purpose is the same: to ensure the product’s immunity level to RF disturbing signals applied to the product’s ports.

In order to perform conducted RF immunity tests, you should follow the relevant standards. IEC 61000-4-6 and  ISO 11452-4 are the two popular standards for conducted RF immunity tests. IEC 61000-4-6 are well known for commercial products, ISO 11452-4 is automotive-specific test standard which is also known BCI testing. Modulated and amplified RF signal is applied to the ports or cables of equipment under test and performance is monitored. If the product is immune to the applied signals considering the defined performance criteria, the test result will be Pass.

About CDG 7000 Conducted Disturbances Test System:

The CDG 7000 is a new test generator for all interference immunity standards against conducted interference induced by high frequency fields. It is one of the very few combined IEC 61000-4-6 test systems which include the RF signal generator, a RF-power amplifier, a 3-channel RF voltmeter and a directional coupler. It generates interferences as defined in IEC / EN 61000-4-6 – immunity to conducted disturbances  induced by radio-frequency fields. By using coupling networks and coupling clamp’s sine waves are induced directly into power and signal lines. This system is an integrated conducted immunity test system. It complies with IEC/EN 61000-4-6, IEC / EN 61000-4-6, ISO 11452-4 (Automotive BCI), IEC 61326-3-2 and NAMUR standards. The system is used to perform RF conducted immunity testing in this frequency range: 10kHz-400MHz.
